“Our days are numbered. One of the primary goals in our lives should be to prepare for our last day. The legacy we leave is not just in our possessions, but in the quality of our lives. What preparations should we be making now? The greatest waste in all of our earth, which cannot be recycled or reclaimed, is our waste of the time that God has given us each day.”
― Bill Graham
I write daily because I want to remember…
….the individual belly laugh of each of my children.
…pink ribbons, curled in the evening folds of a blue sky.
…the trail of my husbands’ cologne as he leaves for work.
…buttery crust and cinnamonly, spiced peaches that were in my Grandfather’s infamous cobbler.
…LOVE born, broken, restored, and redeemed-(for little old me).
I want to live my life in real-time, not in have to’s or should a been’s.
My Big Sis Meg always says to me, “No shoulding on yourself!”
I love that!!! Every time she says that I feel the release of an unknown, weighted-down, unnecessary and unproductive expectation dropping to the ground.
I want to capture this gift called life, that keeps on opening, right in front of my eyes.
None of us know when our time is up. I do know, at age 40-if I’m blessed to live a long life-I’m just about at the half-way mark. And my precious life is ticking away…fast!
Until God calls me home, I am going to stop and smell the roses. And while I’m here, I’m going to take a few pictures in my garden, press and preserve the petals I collect along the way and package them in my writing to share with others.
I’m not the only one trying to grab a hold of life.

Isn’t that AMAZING?
Documenting our own lives so that we stay present in them. Not just some but the “all” of them-the good, bad and ugly reality of our stories.
This is how I want to bring 2014 in-anybody else down? (Oh no, I’m starting something new again, huh? LOL! Let me know.)
Here’s my one second-REAL TIME MOMENT HIGHLIGHT of the Day:
(This is a picture of (Aliyah and I) Mother Dear and Drummer Boy. I will tell you more about who they are and the city of Vanport they are from tomorrow).
Here's to making every second count.
